It was established mainly to provide technical skilled man power to the country\u2019s flourishing copper mines. Throughout its half a century history of existence, NORTEC has consistently performed in accordance with its raison d\u2019\u00eatre by churning out highly competent Craftsmen, Technicians and Technologists who have positively contributed to the success of the mining industry. Over the years, the College has also been a major contributor of the requisite skills to Zambia\u2019s emerging sectors like construction, service, IT and entrepreneurship. Today NORTEC ranks among Zambia\u2019s leading technical training providers due its undiminishing contribution to both our nation and beyond.<\/p>\n<p>Northern Technical College is accredited with the Technical Educational Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training Authority (TEVETA). The College has also forged partnerships with leading local universities (Copperbelt University and the University of Zambia), corporations and international partners who include among others, the Kaizen Institute of Zambia, African Development Bank and, Volvo of Sweden.<\/p>\n<p>NORTEC is a quasi \u2013 government institution administered by a Management Board. The institution has currently four academic departments namely:<br \/> 1. Mechanical<br \/> 2. Electrical<br \/> 3. Automotive \/Heavy Equipment Repair<br \/> 4. Applied Sciences and Business Studies.<\/p>\n<p>Our course portfolio includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Mechanical Engineering.<\/li>\n<li>Electrical Engineering.<\/li>\n<li>Automotive Engineering.<\/li>\n<li>Heavy Equipment Repair.<\/li>\n<li>Biomedical Engineering.<\/li>\n<li>Laboratory Science.<\/li>\n<li>Computer Studies.<\/li>\n<li>Production Management.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Our courses are available on Full-time, Part-Time , Open Distance Learning and Short intensive training.<\/p>\n<p>Looking forward, NORTEC remains focused to maintain its role of being a reputable skills training provider in Zambia and the region, a TVET sector leader and an important solution to Zambia\u2019s technological, economic and social challenges.
